Sanding
I use a specialised deck sanding brush system to bring weathered timber decks back to life and prepare them to receive a new coating.
The abrasive nylon brush is designed to remove coatings and the weathered surface layer of timber without damaging screw heads, changing the thickness of the boards or producing mountains of dust.

Deck Cleaning
Before coating, your deck MUST be treated with one or more specialised timber prep treatments.
These treatments do anything from removing excess tannins and oils, remove stains and revitalise weathered timber, kill mould, lichens and algae or open up the timber pores ready to accept a new coating.
Getting these treatments right is the key to a long lasting finish and is often overlooked.

Oiling and Finishing
Choosing the right coating for your deck can be tricky. There are countless products and several completely different coating types.
No one product is perfect for every scenario, and many factors come in to play when choosing the right finish for you.
The level of exposure to sun and rain, overhanging vegetation, the species of timber and your preferred aesthetic are all important factors that need to be considered before investing in a new coating.
